Matizes, UFRN's Visual Arts Research Group, begins, this Wednesday, 21st, at 7pm, a series of conversations to discuss and exchange scientific and artistic experiences, with the aim of strengthening academic exchange and cooperation networks between different institutions, in addition to promoting debate and the production of knowledge in Visual Arts. To this end, the meetings, held virtually on the Google Meet platform, with a link to be made available later, include the participation of researchers and collaborators from other universities.
Registration is open on the Sigaa action page under the title Conexão Matizes until November 9th, date of the last meeting, with a limit of 40 participants. The focus of the initiative is those working in the field of visual arts: artists, curators, students and art teachers, but it is also open to the general public interested in the topic.
The event features three lectures, between the months of September and November, which cover different themes related to art. The first, on September 21st, includes the line Poetics and Creation Processes in Arts, with the participation of professor and visual artist Milton Sogabe, from UNESP and Anhembi Morumbi University. The next one, on October 19th, on the theme Theory, History and Art Criticism, will be led by curator and professor at UFPR Paulo Reis. The last meeting, scheduled for November 9th, on Arts Teaching, will be taught by professor Luciana Borre, from UFPE.
The lectures will be mediated by professors Patrícia Teles and Arlete dos Santos Petry, linked to the Department of Arts, and Eduardo Pellejero, from the Department of Philosophy at UFRN, all members of the Matizes group.
Matizes encompasses UFRN teachers and students around projects that stimulate investigation, reflection, debate, production, application and appreciation of knowledge in the field of Visual Arts, in an attempt to cover its diverse languages, poetics, categories and contexts, as well as its various interactions with the most diverse areas of knowledge and activity.
