The RECânone Extension project, from the Department of Anthropology at UFRN, which works in the translation of scientific texts, began a partnership with the Center for Studies in Public Health (NESC) to translate strategic materials from English, Spanish and French into Portuguese, which are useful in this extraordinary moment of the coronavirus pandemic.
According to the project coordinator, professor Ana Grete, "to this end, we carried out a series of collective translations and revisions, and called artists from our network of affections to illustrate. At the same time, we continued with the critical translations that constitute the original initiative of this project, as well as being inspired by indigenous poetry to nurture perspectives of a different world to come. Finally, we translated from Portuguese into English an important manifesto of Brazilian civil society, with the hope that this initiative will spread to other locations in the south of our country. globe”, highlighted the teacher.
In May, the group also made translated materials available to epidemiologists, doctors, anthropologists, other professionals and the community in general, a series of translated resources, this time from English, Spanish, French and Moore into Brazilian Portuguese. "Let's disseminate information from good sources! Science and communities in dialogue to face the challenges brought by the pandemic", concluded the professor.
