The Multilingual translation research group, with the support of PPG, DLLEM and the Ágora Institute of UFRN, promotes the II Meeting: Studies in Translation, to be held on the 3rd and 4th of August, in auditorium “B” at CCHLA, starting at 10am. Registration to participate in the event will be carried out on site. With the aim of expanding and consolidating discussions on translation studies at UFRN, the meeting will feature the participation of professor José Lambert and will promote several round tables.
José Lambert began his university career in the field of Comparative Literature as a Professor. from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium. He was part of the group of researchers who founded Translation Studies in the 1970s, in Europe. He co-founded Target magazine in 1989, today one of the main magazines in the area. He is a founding member and current honorary president of CETRA (Center for Translation Studies) at KU Leuven. He has dedicated his research to the functional, cultural and sociological aspects of translation. He was a visiting professor at several universities around the world and is currently a visiting professor at UFC, Fortaleza.
