The Public Defender's Office of Rio Grande do Norte (DPE) promotes today, the 10th, an action entitled: “Mobilization for Trans Visibility Day” which aims to welcome people who are interested in adopting their social name on official documents. The action to open the process of changing the social registration takes place from 8 am to 2 pm, at the headquarters of the Defender's Office, in Lagoa Nova.
To carry out this procedure, you must have the following documents on hand: ID (copy), CPF (copy), Birth or Marriage Certificate (copy), Proof of Residence (copy) and criminal record certificate from State and Federal courts.
Once this process is completed, all official documents (RG, CPF and Certificates) will appear with the chosen name, creating a new civil registry. In the case of Transsexuals, it is possible to change the gender stated on the documents.
