The Department of Literature (DLET), at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), promotes the extension action “The city in the classroom: Natal: secret biography, by Paulo de Tarso Correia de Melo – Reading script”. The event is linked to the extension project, which is in its fourth edition, “Literary Reading at school: from word to body” which seeks to present the results of the activities developed in the discipline Production of Teaching Material VII, taught by Prof. Dr. Henrique Eduardo de Sousa (DLET). This year, the event takes place in person, on May 27th, from 9 am to 11 am, in auditorium B of the Center for Sciences, Letters and Arts (CCHLA).
The proposal of the project, designed by the Literature Theory area of DLET, is to expand the dialogue between theory and practice in the field of literary reading in Basic School, with the aim of instrumentalizing and updating the teaching-learning repertoires of Literature graduates and Portuguese Language and Literature teachers in relation to the enjoyment and knowledge of literary texts. The action will publicize the teaching and literacy practices developed at the Department of Humanities – CCHLA, within the scope of undergraduate and postgraduate studies (PROFLETRAS and PPgEL), in such a way that it promotes the exchange of experiences between undergraduates, postgraduates, education professionals, graduating students and the public outside the walls.
To carry out the planned actions (workshops, courses, round tables, reading circles, soirées, dramatizations), the project will rely on studies on the teaching of literature with emphasis on the contributions of Hélder Pinheiro (2018), Rildo Cosson (2020, 2018), Magda Soares (2019), Annie Rouxel (2013), Roxane Rojo (2013), Paul Zumthor (2014), among others. At the end of the event, the student and teacher will seek to reflect on their professional practice in the area of Literature, considering the specific nature of Literature within the scope of teaching.
Registration is available via Sigaa.
