Consuni approves Code of Conduct for public agents and UFRN students

The University Council (Consuni) of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) approved, last Wednesday, 11, the Code of Conduct for public agents and students at the institution. The document aims to guide members of the university community on general standards of ethical behavior, based on the objectives of strengthening the institutional image, creating an environment suitable for social interaction, promoting the practice and awareness of principles of conduct, strengthening the ethical character and establishing an instrument to support everyday ethical decisions.
The Code of Conduct is aimed at all UFRN students and public agents who provide services of a permanent, temporary, exceptional or occasional nature, whether teaching, technical-administrative employees, people in management positions, members of Superior Councils or outsourced service providers.
The text details the rules of conduct, rights, duties and prohibitions of public agents and students, whose actions must be guided by legality, impersonality, morality, publicity, efficiency, honesty, discretion, transparency, civility, decorum, good faith, among other principles and values listed in the document.
According to the dean of People Management at UFRN, Mirian Dantas dos Santos, the code seeks to promote ethical, healthy and harmonious coexistence, in which all people are aware of the conduct and values defended by the university. “The document makes clear what the institution expects from its members, which is why it provides security for both management and the university community in general”, he states.
The official version of the Code of Conduct will soon be made available on the UFRN Portal and on the website of the Dean of People Management (Progesp), which plans to disseminate the text through other means as well, as a way of promoting broad knowledge of the content.
