The Postgraduate Program in Urban and Regional Studies (PPEUR), linked to the Institute of Public Policies, received a recommendation of concept 5 in the Capes 2025 Assessment, released this Monday 12th. The result refers to the four-year period 2021–2024 and represents an increase in the concept previously attributed to the Program, which was 4.
According to the PPEUR coordination, the evaluation reflects a collective achievement, built from the joint work of coordination, teachers, students, graduates and the Program secretariat over the last four years. The new concept consolidates PPEUR as a program of academic excellence at a regional level, with expansion of its national and international insertion.
In recent years, the Program has advanced in research focused on topics related to regional planning and public policies. Among the results are the approval of projects by national and regional funding agencies, including the approval of a National Institute of Science and Technology (INCT), in addition to the expansion of international partnerships with institutions in Latin America.
PPEUR also recorded academic recognition through dissertations and theses awarded by national research and postgraduate associations of which the Program is a member. More than 200 scientific articles were published with the participation of professors, students and graduates, in addition to consolidating the training of the first two doctoral classes.
Concept 5 awarded by Capes summarizes the commitment and dedication of the entire PPEUR academic community and recognizes the work developed over the years.
