The Federation of Commerce of Goods, Services and Tourism of Rio Grande do Norte (Fecomércio) held, on the morning of this Tuesday, the 12th, the awards ceremony for the 2024 Fecomércio Journalism System Award. Among the winners is the TV Universitária reporter Habyner Lima, who won the award in the Student category. The ceremony was held at the Hotel Escola Barreira Roxa.
The Sistema Fecomércio Award seeks to recognize and value press professionals who stand out in covering topics related to commerce, services and tourism in Rio Grande do Norte, in addition to the initiatives of Fecomércio, Sesc and Senac. The 2024 edition had the theme of Fecomércio RN: 75 years transforming the lives of people from Rio Grande do Norte and boosting the economy of RN. Journalists, photographers, communication students and authors of articles published in newspapers, magazines, radio, TV and online platforms were awarded awards in the categories of Printed Journalism, Online Journalism, Photojournalism, Radio Journalism, Television Journalism and Student Journalism.
Habyner won 1st place in the Student category with the report SESC Stories – From childhood to better age, produced during his performance on UFRN's University TV. In the article, the student discussed the Sesc-RN project that promotes inclusion and well-being for all age groups, highlighting welcoming and qualification initiatives. Examples include support for children with autism, who found socialization and development opportunities at Sesc; professional development, with the improvement of decoration skills; and programs aimed at seniors.
For the student, "it's a very positive feeling to know that everything we set out to do worked, to be able to tell inspiring stories and pay attention to the material produced. We know that when we do a special report, it demands a lot of time and dedication, so seeing all this work being recognized and representing TVU, the largest journalism school in Rio Grande do Norte, fills our hearts with joy", concludes Habyner.
