From May 30th to June 2nd, Natal will host the II International Symposium on Research in Transpersonal Psychology and the X Transpersonal Psychology Week of RN, which aim to bring together researchers from the Brazilian Northeast with academic and clinical recognition in their areas of activity, aiming to strengthen the exchange between research and clinical practices, encouraging the strengthening of research groups and the epistemic and methodological basis of transpersonal psychology professionals.
Some of the pioneers, such as Aidda Pultilnik and Eliana Bertolucci, retrace their trajectories that are intertwined with the introduction and dissemination of the ideas of Transpersonal Psychology in Brazilian lands in the last 40 years.
Two international guests Phillip Jeffries (England) and Florent Pasquier (France) will bring their expertise on topics such as Resilience, Culture and vulnerable contexts; and Secular Spirituality and Education.
For researchers from the Northeast, the 40 years of transpersonal psychology in Brazil provide a moment of affirmation of one's own identity in which it is important to think critically and contextually. Therefore, they defend a critical and decolonialist reading of the transpersonal for Brazil, acting considering fundamental issues such as: Gender, Class, Race and Urban Peripheries. The clinic must be a power at the service of life and people in general; and not a privilege for a few who become customers because they can hire services.
In this sense, important partners such as the Laboratory of Studies in Thanatology and Humanization of Health Practices (LETHS), the Reference Center for Human Rights (CRDH) at UFRN and the Observatory of the Child and Youth Population in Contexts of Violence (OBIJUV) join efforts to discuss: spirituality and health practices, psychology and human rights, the extermination of youth and art/culture as a way of producing the power of life.
The event has the support of PPGPsi (Postgraduate Program in Psychology/UFRN; the Dean of Research of UFRN, the North Riograndense Association of Transpersonal Psychology (ANPPT) and Renascer Psicologia Clínica. The 2SIPPT is carried out by the Brazilian Association of Research in Transpersonal Psychology (ABRAPET).
