The Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) organizes, on the 24th and 25th of November, the 5th National Text Review Forum. The event takes place in Natal and brings together students, teachers, researchers and professionals to discuss the panorama of text revision and the role of proofreaders in Brazil. Registration for submission of works has been extended until September 30th. Interested parties must send their proposals using the form available on their Instagram profile (@forumrevisaodetextos).
The first discussion proposal will take place on November 24th, at 2pm, at Instituto Ágora, with the round table on the theme “Text review: experiences and knowledge”. Participating in the meeting are UERN professor Risoleide Rosa Freire de Oliveira, PhD in Language Studies and reviewer at UFRN, and professor Luciana Salazar Salgado, PhD in Linguistics and professor at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar).
On November 25th, also at 2pm, the second round table will take place, on the theme “The challenges of the reviewer’s work in the contemporary world: training and visibility”. The event brings the professor from the Federal University of Rio Grande (FURG) Adail Ubirajara Sobral, who has a doctorate in Applied Linguistics and Language Studies, in dialogue with Doctor Fabíola Barreto Gonçalves, reviewer at UFRN.
Registration
Each type of participation (listener/communication) has specific values according to the category: undergraduate students (listener: R$50/communication: R$60), postgraduate students (listener: R$70/communication: R$80), HEI professors, professionals and other interested parties (listener: R$90/communication: R$100). In addition, undergraduate and postgraduate students must submit, at the time of registration, proof of connection with a higher education institution (enrollment certificate, declaration of connection or other similar.
