The Institute of Public Policies (IPP), at the Federal University of Rio Grande no Norte (UFRN), is promoting on the 20th, the inaugural class with the theme “IPP: Challenges and Perspectives”. The meeting takes place at 2:30 pm in the Rectory Auditorium, and is taught by professor Maria do Livramento Clementino.
The event will open with the inauguration ceremony of the first directors of the IPP led by the Rector of UFRN José Daniel Diniz Melo. Professors Lindijane de Souza Bento Almeida and Alexsandro Ferreira Cardoso da Silva will be sworn in as Director and Vice-Director of the new institute. Check out the invitation by clicking here.
Professor Lindijane Almeida highlighted the history of the trajectory that began since 2004 in the area of public policies at UFRN "we have seen growth with the teaching, research and extension activities that we carried out in isolation and now with the creation of the Institute we will work with the institutions jointly to offer new projects. We appreciate all the support from the management of UFRN and CCHLA who supported us in this fight, we will continue with a lot of work and happy to follow our plan", highlighted the director.
The Public Policy Institute
The new unit, linked to CCHLA, has an undergraduate course in Public Policy Management and the Postgraduate Program in Urban and Regional Studies (PPEUR), consisting of a master's degree and a doctorate. It was formed from the merger of the former Department of Public Policies (DPP), with the Advanced Center for Public Policies (Napp) and the Urban and Regional Planning Laboratory (Labplan).
The unit has the objectives of carrying out extension and innovation activities; promote the prospecting of talents in Public Policy Management and Urban and Regional Studies; consolidate UFRN's insertion as a reference in the area of public policies and contribute to internationalization as an institution of excellence in its field of knowledge, in addition to other purposes.
