Students graduating from the first semester of this year (2022.1) of the courses at the Center for Human Science, Letters and Arts (CCHLA) at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) graduated on the 22nd and 23rd, Thursday and Friday, in graduation ceremonies held in the facilities and event hall of the Holiday Inn hotel, in Natal.
On Thursday, the solemn session was chaired by rector Daniel Diniz de Melo. The graduating students were from Literature courses (Portuguese, Spanish, French, English), Social Sciences, Psychology, Theater, Dance, Visual Arts, Design and Libras.
On Friday, the ceremony was presided over by the director of CCHLA, professor Maria das Graças Soares Rodrigues. The graduates were from the following courses: Audiovisual, Social Communication, Journalism, Advertising, Philosophy, Geography, Public Policy Management and History.
The ceremonies began around 5 pm, with the signing of the minutes by each of the graduates. Then, accompanied by their family members, they were led, by groups, to the large event hall, with the course coordinators, paranymphs and honored teachers in front.
After the performance of the Brazilian National Anthem, when everyone stood in a position of respect, the floor was given by the tables of honor for the student to give the official speech representing the graduates.
The tables then began the ceremony to award the respective degree to which each person was entitled. The trainees presented their presentations and then took the oath, in the following terms:
"Invoking the testimony of all the people present, I promise to exercise, with dignity, love, respect for the law and ethical principles, the profession I chose, dedicating myself entirely to the service of my country and humanity. I promise so."
Soon after the declaration of bachelor's and licentiate degrees given, in accordance with the law, by the board's management, the normal call was made for each of those now graduated to congratulate and symbolically receive their diplomas.
At the end of the event, the Student Merit medal and diploma were awarded to each of the representatives of the classes that performed best throughout their respective courses.
