The Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) will hold, on the 14th, 15th and 16th of December, the 10th edition of the Visual Arts Week (SAV). Visual Arts Week, which has taken place annually since 2010, proposes an exchange of knowledge, ideas and experiences between students, teachers and speakers who work in the Brazilian art circuit, seeking to address the current scenario of environmental degradation, violence and threats to communities and cultural diversity.
In this edition, the Visual Arts Week aims to motivate and stimulate participants through activities that integrate theory and practice, helping teachers and artists in training to be able to perform their role in an ethical, critical and creative manner, in order to contribute to the consolidation of a more democratic, fair and inclusive society. These aspects reinforce the objectives expressed in the Pedagogical Project of the UFRN Visual Arts Course, contributing to reflection on the teaching and learning processes of professionals in the area.
In this sense, through lectures, round tables, debates, workshops and exhibitions, the proposed themes should encourage participants to promote reflection on art and its modes of circulation from an ethical and socially responsible stance. Thus, assisting research and community participation in visual production and the construction of knowledge in the teaching of Visual Arts in different historical, social, cultural, environmental and political contexts.
