The national financial crisis also arrived at UFRN and some events are being accepted administratively, but financially they do not receive funds to meet emerging demands.
This was revealed at the opening of the XXVII Philosophy Week at UFRN by its coordinator, professor Markus Figueira. Despite this, he was happy with how long the event had been going on and having participated in practically everyone, remembering that they decided to invite social and cultural actors from the city so that there could be a greater rapprochement, since the academy sometimes operates apart from society.
This perception was praised by the director of CCHLA, professor Maria das Graças S. Rodrigues, who praised the willingness of the organizers and also the call of several professors from other departments, students and people working in Natal and other states, in this group of discussions around the theme: Philosophy and the City.
The opening closed with the head of the Philosophy department, professor Cinara Nahra, reinforcing the importance of the topic and welcoming everyone.
The focus of the opening was a tribute to Bianor Paulino da Costa, a well-known character from the local cultural world, now deceased, author of the book “Empalhador de Palavras”, researcher of Japanese haiku, with forays into the process poem and much loved in Natal.
To reveal nuances of its cultural and artistic trajectory, the Philosophy Week selected guest professor Cícero C. Bezerra, professor Edrisi Fernandes and the sebista Abimael Silva.
The XXVII Philosophy Week continues until the 2nd with communications, round tables and a freshman session.
