In an article published in the international Philosophy magazine, Voluntas, from the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM), professor Dax Moraes, from the Department of Philosophy at UFRN, analyzed the ambiguity in the context of the pandemic, according to observations and reflections about the early days of the pandemic and social distancing.
Titled “Pandemic ambiguity: an essay on impersonality”, the study presents the dichotomy of discourses between the West and the East amid the context of Covid-19. "Ambiguity itself has become a political-media phenomenon in recent times, becoming the cradle that welcomes the present state of pandemic. In other words, the pandemic itself is crossed by the ambiguity of the discourse that welcomes and disseminates it on an equally viral scale and procedure", highlights the professor.
The reflection of the research that permeates the analysis of economic, social and moral situations also highlights that the current moment, “consists of opening a reflection on the fact that the pandemic establishes and installs like never before, in the context of an ‘Information Age’, the most decisive uprooting of humans in relation to their world and their inevitable transplantation to the world of representations and subjectivism”.
The article still reflects ambiguities regarding the context of social isolation and socio-economic scenarios. The work can be seen in full at the link: https://periodicos.ufsm.br/voluntas/article/view/43777/pdf
