Future works at CCHLA receive a visit from a FINEP technician

The directors of the Center for Human Sciences, Letters and Arts, professors Maria das Graças Soares Rodrigues, director, and Sebastião Faustino Pereira Filho, deputy, spent the morning of this Monday, the 22nd, meeting with the head of the FINEP Decentralized Programs department, Marcelo Nicolas Camargo, and representatives of vice-rectorates and departments of CCHLA, all discussing issues related to the Center's three works that seek a positive technical opinion from FINEP for their implementation.
FINEP grants reimbursable and non-refundable financing to research institutions and Brazilian companies, and in the case of CCHLA, it came to see up close the works of the Ágora Institute measuring 1,700 m², a building of the Complex of Integrated Research Laboratories and Psychology PG measuring 570 m² and 1,200 m² and the construction of the Center for Studies and Research in Applied Social Sciences – NEPSA.
In the management room, Marcelo made general considerations about how those involved need to carry out communications more quickly for a better flow of the stages to be completed, spoke about funding issues, listened to details of the projects underway at UFRN and went to see the projects up close to have a better understanding of their objectives and needs.
The head of DPD/FINEP will also have meetings with the rector Ângela Paz Cruz and left a good impression on the CCHLA managers who are working to ensure that the works progress and become a reality as soon as possible, thus benefiting students, teachers and technicians, all eager for more modern spaces, better equipment for practices and laboratories that meet the new demands that arise.
Marcelo Camargo promised to produce his opinions as soon as possible, informed that today FINEP is more technical, that it demands legal requirements from the legislation in force in the country and heard from local technicians that UFRN has no unfinished work and that as far as possible it has been working to ensure that technical issues do not block the projects.
Today UFRN has 33 works linked to FINEP and presents a better situation than other universities in the general framework of this partnership.  Today, the feasibility of research and postgraduate projects is carried out by Popesq, which lists the needs of the academic community and, in accordance with the Institutional Development Plan (PDI), forwards the institution's priorities to FINEP.  Camargo's role in this context is that after the projects are approved, their execution is monitored so that everything is carried out.
