Aiming to bring theoretical innovations from the academic world to the internal and external community, the extension project “Me Explica, Me Ensina” is promoted by the department of Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures at UFRN, organized by professor Izabel Nascimento. The extension activity receives monthly visits from debaters who focus on a current theoretical topic.
This month, the biological and linguistic bases of political discourse will be discussed with professors Paulo Henrique Duque, Janaina Weissheimer and PhD student at the Brain Institute Daniel Filho. The meeting will take place in auditorium “B” at CCHLA, on May 31st, at 7pm. Participants will be issued certificates of participation through the Dean of Extension (PROEX).
On the occasion, issues relating to the way people construct their political positions will be addressed, based on speeches and with a view to dialogue between Cognitive Linguistics and Neuroscience.
