UFRN’s Tiresias Center celebrates gay pride week

The Interdisciplinary Center for Studies in Sexual Diversity, Gender and Human Rights (Tirésias), at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), promotes Pride Week, on the 25th and 26th of June. The event is an allusion to Gay Pride Day, celebrated annually on June 28th around the world, with the main objective of raising awareness among the population about the importance of combating homophobia, for the construction of a prejudice-free and egalitarian society, regardless of sexual gender.
The program starts on the 25th, at 2pm, at UFRN Gym 2, with Queimada & Futsal LGBT. On Wednesday, the 26th, at 9 am, in Auditorium 1A14, of the Department of Public Policies (DPP), there will be a session of Cine Tirésias Especial, where the film The Death and Life of Marsha P. Jonhson (2017) will be shown, with a brief dialogue about the story of the transvestite who took the first steps of the LGBT movement. The week ends with the round table I'm Proud, at 6pm.
