The State and Public Policies research group, from the Institute of Public Policies (IPP/UFRN), promotes, on November 4th, the seminar “The (De)judicialization of health policy in Rio Grande do Norte: mediation and common paths of action”. The event takes place at 8:30 am in the auditorium of the Federal Court of Rio Grande do Norte. Registration can be done via Sigaa or in person during the seminar.
The organizers aim to bring together political and social actors who work in health policy and can generate reflection on improving the policy, reducing judicialization and the potential of mediation to resolve conflicts. The event will be aimed at students, teachers, researchers, public managers, actors in the judicial system and various social actors, such as SUS users interested in the discussion.
This activity is related to the extension project “Building Collaborative Solutions for Judicialized Public Issues” and is part of the context of a new strategy for the aforementioned project, which is called “Mediation in Dialogues”. Thus, the new strategy aims to establish a permanent discussion forum on the main topics discussed in the context of legal actions involving public conflicts.
Participating in the seminar are Marcos Antônio Tavares Jácome da Costa Britto (Physician from the Regional Council of Medicine of the State of Rio Grande do Norte – CREMERN), Iara Maria Pinheiro de Albuquerque (Prosecutor for the Defense of Public Health in Natal), Gisele Maria da Silva Araújo Leite (Federal Judge Coordinator of CEJUSC/JFRN) and Klevelando Augusto Silva dos Santos (Lawyer/CREMERN).
