Arkhétypos theater group presents a show entitled: “Fogo de Monturo”

The Arkhétypos theater group from the arts department of the Center for Human Sciences, Letters and Arts at UFRN performs the show entitled: “Fogo de Monturo” from the 10th to the 12th of June. The event takes place at the Pinacoteca de Natal, starting at 8pm on the 10th and 11th and at 7pm on the 12th.
Tickets are sold on site and cost R$30.00 (full) and R$15.00 (half).
Fogo de Monturo tells the journey of Fátima, the daughter of a mill in the village of Monturo, who is about to be crowned queen of Maracatu, when she decides to leave for the Capital and study Law at university. With her migration, little Monturo suffers from the return of the haunting of the whore Gaba Machado, killed by electric shocks. In the village, Gaba's energy takes over the bodies and thoughts of the residents, bringing their most hidden desires to the surface. Meanwhile, Fátima, in the Capital, becomes involved with the student movement and a Law Professor, who poetizes the revolution against the dictatorial power of the military.
Arkhétypos
The Arkhétypos Theater Group at UFRN works from a laboratory perspective and develops its shows from a dive into the symbolic universe of each actor, always associating artistic practice with the search for self-knowledge. It is common for the group to choose an element of nature as a creative theme in the creation process: earth, water, fire and air. This is the fourth show by Grupo Arkhétypos, which has as its theme the element of fire and was developed in co-production with Unaluna – Pesquisa e creação em Arte/SP. The work is the result of Post-Doctoral Research by Prof. PhD. Luciana Lyra carried out at PPGArC at UFRN.
