The Center for Human Sciences, Letters and Arts (CCHLA) received this Monday morning, the 9th, a visit from the student who graduated from the History Course and now Captain of Sea and War of the Brazilian Navy, João Leal Neto, who invited him to the launch of his book “Guerra Naval na Costa Nordestina”, which will take place on the 16th of May at the headquarters of the 3rd Naval District during an event commemorating the 77th anniversary of the end of the 2nd World War.
During the visit, accompanied by the head of the UFRN History Department, professor Maria da Conceição Fraga, the author, who studied at UFRN from 2014 to 2017, spoke about the history of the Navy and its contributions in the context of the Second World War, as well as donating books to the CCHLA Sector Library and discussing possibilities for partnerships with the Center's director, professor Maria das Graças Rodrigues and vice-director professor Josenildo Bezerra.
The launch event has free registration open until next Thursday, the 12th, on the website: https://sites.google.com/view/2gm-nordeste In addition to the book launch, there will be exhibitions, round tables and lectures on Military History. The event will take place from 8am to 7pm in the auditorium of the 3rd Naval District.
