The Fulbright ETA Conversation Club is an extension course planned based on a project developed with the support of CAPES/Fulbright and which has been offered to the academic community and the general public since 2014, and is therefore now in its 4th edition.
In the current semester, the project will count on the collaboration of two native English speakers – Americans Derek Reagan and Cheyenne Pritchard – teaching assistants who will help us carry out our teaching, research and extension activities during 2017.
The main focus of the meetings will be to carry out a variety of activities that aim to develop the linguistic-communicative competence of students (and/or interested audiences) in the English language.
The 15 meetings will take place in Classroom Sector II, on the following dates: March: 21st and 28th; April: 04, 11, 18 and 25; May: 02, 09, 16, 23 and 30; June: 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th. Time: 6:45pm-8:30pm approximately.
The selected activities will aim to develop fluency in English based on themes focused on aspects of the culture of English-speaking countries. Some selected themes will be the following:
– Cultural stereotypes;
– Habits;
– Politics;
– Education etc.
