The UFRN Department of Philosophy (Defil) is holding, between the 22nd and 26th of November, the 30th Philosophy Week: art, culture and Brazilian politics. This, which is a traditional Department event, aims to promote critical reflection, interaction and debate among participants, being a space in which researchers from UFRN, other institutions and the external community can contribute.
In this edition, the event, free and open to the public, focuses on three aspects: establishing a closer relationship between practice and theory, valuing art and being an environment in which the so-called minority has a voice. The thirtieth Philosophy Week takes place remotely, with live transmission via the PPGFIL UFRN channel.
Among the topics that will be discussed at the meetings are Indigenous women in leadership of their territories in RN; Racism and psychological suffering in Brazil; Class, racial and sexual oppression in Brazil; Brazilian cultural diversity: controversial and pulsating images; Neoliberal life and anti-neoliberal imaginary: (im)possibilities for the Brazilian reality, among other themes.
