Registration is open for the Extension Course “Representation and Beyond the Representation of Women in Cinema”, promoted by the Department of Communication (Decom) at UFRN. The course, which takes place from May 22nd to 25th, will be taught by professor, curator and researcher Carol Almeida, from 3pm to 5pm, in Auditorium 1 of the Department of Social Communication at UFRN. 70 vacancies are offered by Sigaa.
The course starts with the intention of reviewing some basic notions about what “looking” is, how cinema and cinephilia are founded and, from there, creating an overview of how feminist film theories are presented (texts dealing with images) and how filmmakers reintroduce other debates (images tensioning texts) through their films and productions. The project is coordinated by professor Rodrigo Almeida (UFRN).
