DEART promotes project entitled “Diving into the essence”

“Diving into the essence: poetic-academic immersion as a process of training the artist-teacher” is a project developed by the Arts department of the Center for Human Sciences, Letters and Arts at UFRN, which aims to “provoke situations of reflection about the construction of knowledge of/in art in the training of dance graduates, through poetic-academic immersions involving teachers and students from higher education dance courses”.
Authored by Prof. Márcia Maria Strazzacappa Hernandez, professor at Unicamp, the event takes place over a week and consists of two lectures, an artistic-academic residency (poetic-academic immersion) and a presentation carried out by the residency participants.
The conception to be conveyed is that “art produces knowledge and that the artist becomes a professional in the exercise of his creative practice”.
The project is carried out in the context of higher education dance courses in the country, and at UFRN the project is carried out with the organization of the PIBID Dance Subproject and support from the Dance Degree Course, the Body, Dance and Creation Processes Research Group and the Postgraduate Program in Performing Arts.
Those interested in participating in the event have until August 14th to register via SIGAA.
The event starts on the 15th and ends on the 19th of August, starting at 2pm at DEART.
