DAS holds symposium on new developments in diabetes treatment

The Directorate of Public Health Care (DAS/UFRN) is holding, this Wednesday, the 27th, the Symposium on News in Diabetes Treatment. The moment will be led by nutritionist Cláudia Carneiro and endocrinologist André Gustavo de Sousa, who will address the central topic in an interactive way with the participants. Open to the general community, the event takes place from 1:30 pm, in the DAS auditorium, where blood pressure and blood glucose checks will also be offered. Registration is done via the link.
The symposium closes the schedule of the Blue Diabetes November campaign, included in the UFRN calendar of actions in reference to World Diabetes Day, November 14th. The initiative, organized in Brazil by the Brazilian Diabetes Society (SBD), addresses, in 2019, the theme of Diabetes: protect your family, which served as the basis for the programming developed for the UFRN community, where conversation circles were held in the DAS Waiting Room.
In addition to the campaign, UFRN develops, throughout the year, the project Prevention and Control of Arterial Hypertension and Diabetes Mellitus (Hiperbetes), which aims to combat risk factors to prevent diseases in healthy employees and make early diagnosis of those affected by hypertension and diabetes, with monitoring to avoid complications and improve the quality of life at work.
