On March 29, 2025, renowned actress and theater producer Denise Fraga participated in a Conversation Round with teachers and students from the Theater Degree course at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN). The event took place at the Jesiel Figueiredo Laboratory Theater, in the Arts Department of the Center for Human Sciences, Letters and Arts (CCHLA), from 4 pm to 6:30 pm.
Denise Fraga, known for her versatility in comedic and dramatic roles in Brazilian theater, cinema and television, shared moments from her professional career, from her training at the Escola Técnica de Teatro Martins Penna, in Rio de Janeiro, to the recent shows performed in partnership with José Maria and Luiz Villaça. Among the works in his theatrical repertoire, the highlights are “The Misfortunes of a Child”, by Martins Pena; “Waiting for Godot”, by Samuel Beckett; “Richard III”, by William Shakespeare; “The Soul of Setsuan” and “Galileo Galilei”, by Bertolt Brecht. In cinema, he acted in hits such as “O Auto da Compadecida”.
During the conversation, the actress discussed the process of creating her most recent play, “Eu de Você”, which was presented on March 28th and 29th at Teatro Riachuelo, in Natal. The event also provided students with a question and answer session, where they were able to interact directly with the artist.
In addition to the conversation circle, 42 complimentary tickets were offered to theater course students, distributed between the two performance dates. The initiative is part of the social contribution carried out by the producers, linked to the objectives of the Rouanet Law, which made it possible to raise financial resources for the production and national tour of the show.
Denise Fraga's reception was attended by the director of CCHLA, Josenildo Soares Bezerra, and the vice-director, Samuel Anderson de Oliveira Lima. Teachers from the Arts Department were also present, such as Ana Caldas Lewinsohn, Katia Agg, Melissa Lopes and Naira Ciotti.
The event was organized by professors Laura Figueiredo and Monize Moura, from the Arts Department, and Renata Viana Tomé, from the Education Center. The production included the collaboration of Jorge Elali Produções, from Natal/RN, and the São Paulo producers Nia Teatro and CR Entretenimento.
The Conversation Circle reinforced the importance of dialogue between professionals in the field and students, providing a valuable exchange of experiences for the academic and professional training of future Brazilian theater artists.
