The Center for Human Sciences, Letters and Arts (CCHLA) and the University Publishing House (EDUFRN) held between the 12th and 14th of November 2024 the II Colloquium on text revision, in which the challenges and professional opportunities for the area of text revision were discussed.
The event was a nationwide extension action, open to the public internal and external to UFRN interested in reviewing texts as a professional activity. It was held in the Central Auditorium of Instituto Ágora, with a duration of 20 hours.
At the colloquium, topics such as text review and the publishing market, artificial intelligence, the publication production chain, as well as textual accessibility were addressed; in conference, round table and mini-course formats. The wealth of topics reinforced the importance of strengthening the discussion on text revision at UFRN.
The extension action was coordinated by technical-administrative employees Karla Geane de Oliveira, from the Review and Diagramming Sector of the Center for Human Sciences, Letters and Arts (CCHLA-UFRN), and Francisco Wildson Confessor, from the Editora da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (EDUFRN). Furthermore, it had the support of monitors Giulia de Paiva Maisto and Matheus Mendelssohn Araujo de Carvalho, students at UFRN, on the Design and Literature courses, respectively.
The programming activities, conference, round table and mini-courses, included the participation of text professionals from the state of Rio Grande do Norte and other states in Brazil.
