The History course at the Seridó Regional Higher Education Center (Ceres) turns 50 years old. To take advantage of the date, the unit is carrying out the project Implicated Subject – History, Fiction, Action, which will feature reports from researchers in the History of Brazil.
Launched in April 2022, the Ceres action aims to interview teachers and former teachers of the course, as well as graduates who are in institutions across the country. In total, the action plan has 19 interviewees, in addition to various media on Instagram and on the Subject Implicado – Laboratório e Acervo channel on YouTube.
Yesterday, the 15th, at 1:30 pm, the 9th interview of the season premiered, which addressed the role of history teachers. The guest was researcher and professor at the Education Center (CE/UFRN) Olivia de Medeiros Neta, who studies the history of education and related areas.
The scientific nature of the project, as the organizers inform, coming from the political context of Brazil, includes dialogues about Digital History and Public History. At the same time, the recent recognition of the historian profession is another factor that motivates the series of interviews. Law 14,038 of 2020 regulates the profession in the country and, as of 2021, the National History Association (ANPUH) began issuing professional registration in the area, free of charge.
To propose originality, the project brings an innovative audiovisual language while experimenting with other ways of developing science. In addition, the action will also feature a discussion group to involve the target audience in the analysis of interviews, with monthly meetings.
Furthermore, the Ceres History Department intends to carry out several actions regarding the event. One of them involves an exhibition about the Rio Grande do Sul professor and historian Muirakytan Kennedy de Macêdo.
