“Flora Íntima” exhibition pays homage to professor Vicente Vitoriano at the opening of the 12th Visual Arts Week

This Monday 7th, the Department of Arts at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (DEART/UFRN) opened the 12th Visual Arts Week with the exhibition “Flora Íntima”, a tribute to the 70th birthday of professor Vicente Vitoriano Marques. The exhibition takes place in the DEART laboratory gallery and is the result of the initiative of the students, who wanted to recognize Vicente's significant contribution to training in Visual Arts.
Professor Bettina Rupp, from DEART's Visual Arts course, highlighted the importance of the exhibition. "It portrays an expressive part of the work of a professor who dedicated himself intensely to the course. It is a connection between the past and the present, which reveals Vicente's impact on the academic lives of his students", he stated.
Born in Mossoró-RN in 1954, Vicente Vitoriano has a degree in architecture and a master's and doctorate in education from UFRN. Throughout his career, he worked as an associate professor and coordinator of the Degree in Visual Arts course. He is known for his output in drawing and painting, in addition to his contributions to music and theater. With a strong connection to art criticism and literature, he published works and coordinated projects that promote artistic education.
The 12th Visual Arts Week, which will run until October 11th, promises to be a space for exchange and reflection on the different “Trajectories” that shape contemporary art. The complete schedule can be seen below.
