The VII Meeting of the Rural Studies Network with the central theme “Conflicting perspectives on the rural world: territorialities, knowledge and development actions”, brought together a large audience on the first day of the event this Monday, 29.
The opening included the participation of the Orquestra Potiguar de Clarinetes from the UFRN School of Music, the conference master EHESS (France) and the launch of the book “Comunicação para o Desenvolvimento Redes e Memória” by Maria Salett Tauk Santos.
The choice of this theme is based on the need to deepen understanding and analysis around the distinct and divergent conceptions of the rural world that have been constructed and expressed by different social actors.
The meeting aims to bring together researchers, scholars from different disciplinary backgrounds and those interested in various themes related to the rural world.
For the event's organizer, Cimone Rozenndo: "The 'Meeting of the Rural Studies Network' was born to think about rural issues that are forgotten by Brazil. The proposal of this group is to bring together researchers and social movements that believe in the possibilities of rural areas not as a problem, but as a solution."
Cimone Rozenndo said he was very happy to be able to host the meeting at UFRN and be able to bring together researchers from all over Brazil and other countries.
