VI Cycle Zeitgeist ends edition this Thursday, 2

The VI Zeitgeist Cycle, from the ZEITGEIST Contemporary Art Group of the Department of Arts (Deart/UFRN), comes to an end this Thursday, December 2nd. The remote closing event features the participation of guest artist Daniel de Paula, represented at the 34th Bienal de São Paulo: it's dark but I sing, and professor and coordinator Regina Johas (UFRN). The broadcast takes place from 3pm, via Google Meet.
This year, the Zeitgeist Cycle is in its sixth edition and, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it promoted meetings in an online format. Held every semester, according to professor Regina Johas, the UFRN extension event is a journey and is attended by members of the Zeitgeist Group, artists and curators in the field of contemporary art.
Open to the public, the last meeting of the Zeitgeist Cycle aims to discuss and share experiences focused on contemporary art among participants. Furthermore, address issues and develop studies and research involving artistic production in Brazil and around the world.
About the guest artist
Brazilian artist and researcher, Daniel de Paula, was born in Boston, USA. Currently, he lives and works on the air bridge between São Paulo, in Brazil, and Amsterdam, in the Netherlands. His productions reflect on capitalism, power and social relations. Awarded a grant from the Mondriaan Fonds in the established artist category, he was artist-in-residence at the Jan van Eyck Academie in Maastricht, the Netherlands. In 2021, Daniel de Paula is represented at the 34th São Paulo Biennial, in addition to having held exhibitions at the São Paulo Assis Chateaubriand Museum of Art (MASP), among several others, in Brazil and abroad.
