Since 2003, the Postgraduate Program in Philosophy (PPGFIL) at UFRN has promoted the International Metaphysics Colloquium, an event that brings together national and foreign researchers with the aim of debating fundamental themes and concepts in the area of Metaphysics. In its fifth edition, the Colloquium focuses on the following question: “Is Metaphysics a mirror of life?” and takes place from November 7th to 10th at UFRN.
The purpose of the event is to investigate the extent to which metaphysics corresponds and relates to life, understood here from a comprehensive perspective of existence. Whether as a discipline of philosophy, or as the proper mode of human existence, we seek to think about how its relationship with life is established in the constitution and characterization of metaphysics. How the history of metaphysics presented this reflection and knowing which resonances are present in contemporary times determines the purpose of the event.
Those interested in presenting work at the event have until July 30th to submit their projects. Candidates must send a summary and identification, in separate files such as doc, docx, rtf or equivalent, to the address: vcoloquiometafisica@gmail.com. The message should have the title of the communication as its subject, abbreviated if necessary. A registration fee will be charged for those who intend to present work at the Colloquium, which are as follows: professors and researchers with doctorates, R$100.00, and postgraduate students (external to UFRN) R$50.00. The registration payment period runs from August 7th to October 20th.
Please note that the registration period indicated above is exclusive for the presentation of work. Listeners must register through SIGAA. Some of the speakers already confirmed for the Colloquium are: Prof. Dr. Alfonso Correa Motta (Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Colombia), Prof. Dr. Antonio Edmilson Paschoal (UFPR, Brazil), Prof. Dr. Ezequiel Ludueña (University of Buenos Aires, Argentina), Prof. Dr. Hector José González Ríos (University of Buenos Aires, Argentina), Prof. Dr. Ivana Costa (University of Buenos Aires, Argentina), Prof. Dr. José Maria Zamora Calvo (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain), Prof. Dr. Leonel Ribeiro dos Santos (UFRN, Brazil) and Prof. Dr. Tito Marques Palmeiro (UERJ, Brazil).
