Taking place from the 14th to the 16th of August, at the Education Center (CE), of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), the II Symposium: The Poetics of (r)existence, with the theme of The Poetics (R) Existence: rights, arts and experiences of childhood and youth.
The event intends to present an overview of relevant issues involving these population segments in the contemporary Brazilian scenario, such as the criminalization of youth, strategies for combating juvenile lethality and the importance of children's social participation in collective spaces.
This edition celebrates the 10-year anniversary of the Observatory of the Child and Youth Population in Contexts of Violence (Obijuv), which is a project developed since 2009 at UFRN, whose purpose is to monitor policies for youth and also encourage actions that produce the empowerment of young people in urban peripheries.
The approaches and discussions regarding these strategies will be carried out based on reports and work experiences from teachers, researchers, professionals and students, through mini-courses, round tables and lectures mediated by important national names, such as Fernanda Papa and Caio César Ribeiro.
The complete program, as well as registration for the event, can be made through the project's website.
