Last week of I Comunic-Ação: research, teaching and democracy

Held since June 22nd, the I Comunic-Ação is in its closing week. By next Friday, the 31st, the virtual complementary activities will be completed, developed by the Postgraduate Program in Media Studies (PPgEM) and the Department of Social Communication (Decom) of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. This initiative emerged as an alternative to continue promoting the development of research and teaching, even with the limitations imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic. Registration is free and remains open on the website.
According to Odlinari Ramon Nascimento da Silva, doctoral student at PPgEM/UFRN and member of the Organizing Committee of I Comunic-Ação, the event is an important opportunity for knowledge and learning. It is also a time for interaction with communication researchers, teachers and students, not only from Rio Grande do Norte, but also from several universities in the country.
"Given the impossibilities that the pandemic gave us, collaborating with Comunic-Ação resulted in a huge amount of learning. There were days of academic dialogues, approaches with other teachers and colleagues that, in a face-to-face context, would have been impossible to happen. The I Comunic-Ação has already been recorded in my academic career", highlights Odlinari Ramon, who even actively participated in some presentations of the activities offered.
Doctorate and master's students, in addition to contributing to the organization, presented their research, methodologies, theoretical references and results. All participants in the activities are receiving certificates issued by PPgEM and Decom.
Presentations of research work, lectures, workshops, round tables, short courses and workshops continue throughout this week. “The I Comunic-Ação: research, teaching and democracy opened a range of opportunities applied to the new daily life we are facing, providing democratic communication integrated in the sharing of theoretical knowledge and practical professional experiences”, highlights Daiana Brandão, master's student at PPgEM/UFRN.
