UFRN will have new postgraduate courses in 2020

The Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Capes) approved the creation of three new postgraduate courses at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), which will be offered in Natal from 2020 onwards. The opportunities include the professional master's degree in Special Education, the academic master's degree in Sciences Applied to Women's Health and the professional doctorate in Family Health.
Linked to the UFRN Education Center (CE), the professional master's degree in Special Education aims to train and train professionals who work with people with disabilities, high abilities and autism spectrum disorder, who need support and specialized services for access, permanence, participation and learning in different educational contexts.
The academic master's degree in Sciences Applied to Women's Health, in turn, is linked to the Health Sciences Center (CCS) and based at the Januário Cicco Maternity School (MEJC), with the aim of generating qualified research production to work on women's health in its various aspects, in a multidisciplinary way.
The doctorate in Family Health is part of the Northeast Family Health Training Network (Renasf), under the coordination of the Oswaldo Cruz do Ceará Foundation (Fiocruz). The initiative, which constitutes the first professional doctorate offered at UFRN, seeks to encourage research and teaching on the topic and related areas, based on the production of knowledge and the development of teaching activities.
According to the dean of postgraduate studies at UFRN, Rubens Maribondo, the achievements are important to cover areas that needed to go beyond graduation, with a view to their strengthening and development. With the three new courses, UFRN expands to 95 programs and 134 postgraduate courses, of which 43 are doctorates.
