UFRN suspends face-to-face classes indefinitely

After a meeting of the Covid-19 Committee of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), on the morning of this Tuesday, 17th, the group recommended the suspension of in-person classes. Therefore, rector José Daniel Diniz Melo accepted the guidance of the expert committee and undergraduate and postgraduate classes are suspended indefinitely.
Following the constant assessment of the national and international situation of cases of the new coronavirus, the decision of the UFRN Covid-19 Committee took into account the need to maximize preventive measures, to reduce contamination, and the great concern that plagues the university community, making activities unfeasible.
For rector Daniel Diniz, the Covid-19 Committee was created due to concern about the situation of the new coronavirus and with the aim of keeping the university community safe. "We remain on alert and in constant contact with the Committee to support our measures. Today, our group of experts recommended the suspension and we followed the guidance to preserve the health of UFRN members", explained the professor.
UFRN will update the university community according to new decisions.
