UFRN hosts IX International Meeting of Literary Studies

The Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) will host the IX International Meeting of Literary Studies (EIEL) on March 13, 14 and 15, 2024. The event with the theme “Memory, transits, convergences” will be held on the premises of the Center for Human Sciences, Letters and Arts (CCHLA). Registration is open through SIGeventos.
The program includes round tables and conferences that aim to bring together undergraduate and postgraduate academics, as well as teachers from basic education and higher education, to discuss literature and other languages. The meeting will facilitate dialogue between national and international collaborators from GPHCE – Literary Historiography, Canon and Teaching Research Group, promoting discussions on academic-scientific directions to understand the status of literature in the contemporary context. Issues such as the mobility of tradition in today's world, its relationships with margins and borders will be addressed.
The theme chosen for the IX EIEL, “Memory, transits, convergences”, highlights the importance of language and literature as means of cultural interaction between Brazil and Latin America. Different voices, speeches and ideological positions will be explored, providing a reflection on the paths of theory and literary criticism as tools to evaluate the diversity of literary objects in contemporary times.
Registration for the presentation of works has a fee, while participation as a listener is free, but requires registration with SigEventos. The full event schedule is available on the website [https://sigeventos.ufrn.br/evento/EIEL2023/principal/view].
