UFRN holds meeting on renewable energy and socio-environmental justice

The Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) promotes, through the Institute of Public Policies (IPP), on November 29th and 30th, the 3rd Interdisciplinary Meeting Societies, Environments and Territories: Renewable energies, diversity and socio-environmental and climate justice. The event begins with an opening round table on Tuesday afternoon, at 2:30 pm, in the Nepsa I auditorium, at the Center for Applied Social Sciences (CCSA). Registration can be done on site.
After the opening, the program continues with the lecture “Decarbonization of the global south: scenarios and convergences”, at 3 pm, with a presentation by professor Adryane Gorayeb (UFC). At 4:30 pm, a round table begins on the topic “Renewable energy, climate and regional development in the Northeast”, mediated by professor Zoraide Pessoa (UFRN).
Still today, the 29th, at 6pm, Professor Fernando Maia (UFPB) will speak on the topic: Contracts, dispossession of peasants and wind energy. Tomorrow, Wednesday, 30th, the day of the event begins at 2pm with a conversation on “Public policies and regulatory frameworks for wind energy in the Northeast”. The program also hosts, at 3pm, a conversation on “Sustainability, perceptions and perspectives on wind farms in Rio Grande do Norte”, mediated by Eunice Ferreira, from UFRN.
The theme “Community views and renewable energy” will be debated, at 4:10 pm, also by guests. At the end, there will be a lecture on the “Challenges of renewable energy: the case of Rio Grande do Norte”, at 5:30 pm. Three books will be launched on the occasion, resulting from research on renewable energy. With emphasis on the book: Wind Energy: perspectives and challenges in Rio Grande do Norte, organized by professor Zoraide Souza Pessoa, coordinator of the event.

Registration opens for the 2016.1 semester at PPGe

With registrations open until February 26th in the 2016.1 academic semester of the postgraduate program in Geography, at the Center for Human Sciences, Letters and Arts of UFRN, students entering the program must comply with the provisions of items 6.2 and 6.3 of the Notices to which they submitted for selection and present in person…
