UFRN holds an open class on coronavirus in the rectory auditorium

The Biosciences Center (CB) of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) holds an open class on coronavirus, on Friday, the 7th, from 8 am to 12 pm, in the Otto de Brito Guerra Auditorium (Rector's Auditorium). Previously scheduled to take place at Anfiteatro das Aves, in CB, due to high demand the event changed location, which enabled the organizers to offer a greater number of places.
The lecture will address viral aspects, origin, evolution and prevention and the immunological response. It will be attended by Virology professors José Veríssimo Fernandes and Josélio Araújo and Immunology professor Janeusa Souto. Registration is open, but places are limited. Interested parties can register on the SigEventos website.
Coronavirus is a family of viruses that cause respiratory infections. The new coronavirus agent (nCoV-2019) was discovered in December 2019 after cases were registered in China and the number of infected people in China has reached more than 20,000 and 159 cases have been investigated in 24 countries.
The state's health teams, together with UFRN, developed a Clinical Protocol for Patient Management. The document provides guidance that seeks to help medical teams deal with the virus, should it arrive in the state, and can be accessed at this link.
