UFRN promotes free workshop on new forms of artistic expression

The Department of Arts (Deart) of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) will hold, from the 6th to the 23rd of August, the workshop “Other ways of Making Art – the overcoming of artists through art”, in the Painting Studio (room 15) of the Deart. The workshop is free.
The workshop aims to encourage participants to adopt an unconventional approach to art, showing how physical difficulties can be transformed into new forms of creative expression. The activities will be based on drawing and painting methods inspired by artists such as Frida Kahlo, Henri Matisse, Claude Monet and Tom Yendell, who overcame physical difficulties to continue their artistic practices.
The project will take place on Tuesdays and Fridays, from 1pm to 5pm, totaling six meetings of 4 hours each, with a total workload of 24 hours. The workshop will be taught by students Marya Beatriz Melo and Lucas Bascur, from the Visual Arts course, under the coordination of professors Dr. Bettina Rupp and Ms. Estrela dos Santos, from the Department of Arts.
Participants who have at least 75% attendance will receive a certificate of participation. Check out the complete schedule on the CCHLA website or SIGAA.
