The UFRN African community publishes the program for Africa Week, which this year takes place from May 23rd to 25th, offering a set of academic and cultural activities that aim to strengthen integration between the UFRN community and African students.
This year's theme will be African intellectuals confronting the Western model of development. Registration is open on sigaa, and the university's entire internal and external community is invited to participate.
The program, which can be seen here, includes an African crafts and regional products fair, cultural entertainment with the group Vozes da África, presentation of students' academic productions and a lecture given by Artemisa Odila Cande Monteiro (UNILAB), bringing the theme of African Womanism: A possibility for the continent's development.
And to close Africa Week, on the 25th there will be a celebration party at Galpão 29, Rua Chile, with an open bar, barbecue, two DJs playing African music and a mix of Afro-Brazilian rhythms respectively. Tickets for the party cost R$30 and can be purchased via deposit or bank transfer, by contacting those responsible through the event page.
