The Urban Circuit 2021, an initiative of the United Nations Program for Human Settlements (UN-Habitat), promotes, with support from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), the II Interdisciplinary Meeting of Societies, Environments and Territories on the theme Challenges and Perspectives of Climate Mitigation and Adaptation in Brazilian Cities. The event will take place on the 26th and 27th of October, and will be broadcast through the Circuito Urbano Channel, on YouTube.
The UN-Habitat Program is the United Nations (UN) agency responsible for promoting sustainable urban development and organizes Urban October every year, which begins with World Habitat Day, celebrated on the first Monday of October, and ends with World Cities Day, on the 31st of the same month.
This year, the event will be part of the Urban Circuit 2021, available in a reduced format, whose objective will be to present study and research experiences that focus on answers and alternatives that integrate socio-environmental and climate issues in the context of Brazilian cities. In this sense, the organization promotes conversation circles, which include researchers from UFRN, who are eager for society to participate in Brazilian climate issues.
