From April 27th to 30th, the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte hosts the V SIED – International Symposium on Discursive Studies, which in this edition brings the theme of Bodies in (re)existing clashes. This will be the first time that the event will take place outside the Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP), in an itinerant manner, as a form of interaction between groups and researchers.
Interested parties must register on the GED website. The registration deadline for presenting work is March 15th, other registrations will continue until April 20th.
The purpose of V SIED is to promote reflection and debate around pertinent issues surrounding discourse, taking into account the context of political, socioeconomic, aesthetic and cultural conflicts of this time. The general program of the event is focused on dialogical studies of discourse, due to the 45th anniversary of the death of theorist Mikhail Bakhtin, a Russian thinker who left an important legacy for studies in the area of language.
In this scenario, the meeting also aims to promote knowledge and exchange between researchers, research groups and academics linked to discursive studies, in its various manifestations and trends, taking into account the relationship between body(s) and resistance(s) as a form of resignification of re-existence in this post-truth era.
The profile of the public that this project serves is made up of stricto sensu undergraduate and postgraduate students (academic master's degree, professional master's degree and doctorate), researchers and professors in the areas of Linguistics, Literature and Arts, as well as related areas.
