UFRN opens applications for PhD in Social Anthropology

The Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) has opened registrations for the selection process for a Doctorate in Social Anthropology, with 10 places allocated to the class of 2025. Registrations can be made between September 18th and November 8th, 2024, exclusively through SIGAA.
Of the 10 vacancies offered, 6 are for broad competition, 2 for black and mixed-race candidates, 1 for people with disabilities and 1 for permanent employees of UFRN. Unfilled vacancies will be redistributed as provided in the notice.
The lines of research available in the program include: Spaces, Images and Technologies; Gender, Sexualities, Body and Health; Memory, Local Knowledge, Religiosity and Rituals; and Politics, Rights and Ethnicity.
Candidates must present documents such as a master's degree, academic transcript and research project. The selection process includes stages such as approval of applications, written test, oral argument, project defense and CV analysis. The minimum grade to pass the written test is 7.0 for candidates with wide competition and 6.0 for those who meet the affirmative action quotas.
The final result will be released in January 2025, and classes are scheduled to start in the first semester of the same year.
