Thesis developed at PPgEL at UFRN addresses the discursive representations of the female figure in texts from the newspaper O PORVIR

On the afternoon of December 6, Karla Geane de Oliveira, a technician at the Center for Human Sciences, Letters and Arts at UFRN, presented her doctoral qualification in the Postgraduate Program in Language Studies, entitled: “The female figure and her  discursive representations in texts from the newspaper O PORVIR” (Currais Novos / Rio Grande do Norte – 1926 – 1929).
Having as advisor Prof. Dr. Luis Passeggi from the Literature department at UFRN, the thesis presents a study whose object is discursive representations.
The general objective is to examine the discursive representations of the female figure in texts from the newspaper O PORVIR (Currais Novos / Rio Grande do Norte – 1926-1929).
From a theoretical point of view, it is based on Textual Linguistics, Textual Analysis of Discourses, focusing on the notion of discursive representation.
The work evaluation panel included the participation of professor and director of CCHLA, Maria das Graças Soares Rodrigues and professors Ana Lucia Tinoco Cabral from UNICSUL and Micheline Mattedi Tomazi from UFES.
The defense of the thesis is scheduled to take place in February 2017.
