Opening ceremony of the XXI Humanities Week at CCHLA

The XXI Humanities Week of CCHLA at UFRN held its opening ceremony on the evening of this Monday, 12th, in the Rectory Auditorium. The event was attended by the rector of UFRN Ângela Maria Paiva, the directors of CCHLA Maria das Graças Soares Rodrigues and Sebastião Faustino Pereira Filho and the event coordinator, professor Sérgio Luís Dela-Sávia.
The ceremony began with the coordinator, prof. Sérgio Luís Dela- Sávia highlighting the importance of the week, which constitutes a space for dialogue with a relevant topic in the face of the threat to institutions.
Then, the director of the Maria das Graças Soares Center evaluated this year's theme as fully suited to the moment the country is living in.
For the teacher. Angela Cruz, rector and president Andifes, all the week's activities must discuss the paths that open up in the future with respect to plurality and respect for democratic freedoms.
The dean also analyzed the expansion of public universities and inclusion that took place, also outlining the current profile of students.
The event continues until the 16th and has a vast program that includes presentations by the GTs, round tables and mini-courses.
