Conversation Circle discusses Indigenous Knowledge and Female Protagonism

The Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), through the Department of Geography (DGE), continues to promote the “Women in Science” extension action. Under the coordination of professors Juliana Farias and Jane Barbosa, the project this time brings the event “Roda de Conversa: Indigenous Knowledge and Female Protagonism”, which will be held on June 20th, at 9 am, in auditorium B of the Center for Human Sciences, Letters and Arts (CCHLA). Registration is open on the Sigaa system and can be made until June 18th.
The objective of this meeting is to stimulate dialogue around issues related to original peoples and female protagonism, seeking to expand knowledge about indigenous culture and strengthen the role of women as transformative agents in society. To enrich the debate, Cacica Eva Jacu and Vânia Jacu were invited, belonging to the indigenous village Sagi Jacu, located in the district of Sagi, Baía Formosa, Rio Grande do Norte.

9:00 am to 10:30 am: Opening, presentation of participants and conversation circle;
10:30 am to 12:00 pm: Practical activity of making indigenous skirts;
12:00 to 12:30: End of the activity and thanks.
