The Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) is holding its Aula Magna, alluding to the opening of the second semester of 2019, on the morning of this Thursday, 15th, in the auditorium of the School of Music, starting at 9 am. The activity is registered as an extension project, with the possibility of using hours for curricular completion. Francesco Farrugia, president of the Campus Party Institute, will lead the exhibition that will provoke participants to reflect on the changes in the work environment, based on the digital revolution that society is currently experiencing, and the direct implications, such as the emergence of new professions and the adaptation of existing ones.
"I argue that a differentiating aspect for universities will be the ability to adapt to the digital revolution. A revolution that is accelerated in terms of its potential and which, in my interpretation, overturns paradigms of the industrial revolution", he stated. Farruggia will address questions such as How many jobs will there be in the future? Which?; What is true in innovation?; In Brazil, the digital revolution has already arrived, is it coming or will it arrive?
For him, universities are important characters in this technological context, "which is why the Campus Party Institute seeks them out to form partnerships. In the case of UFRN, we have joint actions, such as the Include Project, whose activities begin here in the state on August 17th. In addition to this initiative, there is also a huge proximity to make the Campus Party itself viable here in the state", he exemplified.
