CCHLA's Bagoas Magazine celebrates 10 years of creation

   The magazine Bagoas, from the Center for Human Sciences, Letters and Arts (CCHLA), at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), is celebrating 10 years of its creation, and to celebrate, it is holding an event with a film screening and round table, on December 6th, starting at 4pm, in the auditorium of the Instituto Ágora at UFRN.
   The event has free entry and starts at 4pm, with the screening of the film Different from Others, written and directed in Germany, in 1919, by Richard Oswald and Magnus Hirschfeld, and stands as a pioneer in the manifestation of homosexuality in cinema, being considered the first gay feature-length film in history.
   The film features comments from cultural producer Marcos de Sá Paula. Right after the exhibition, the round table takes place, with the theme of What a magazine can do, with experts in the areas of Social Science, Philosophy, Anthropology and Communication from UFRN.
Bagoas
   Bagoas is a biannual publication that presents theoretical studies, empirical research, essays and reviews on the themes of gender and sexuality, with emphasis on gay, lesbian and queer studies on homosexuality, lesbianism and transsexuality. Furthermore, the magazine also publishes works on social theory, human rights, culture and politics that dialogue with the central theme. The magazine is available for download on its internet portal.
